Fire Destroys Luxury House in South Jakarta

Flames engulfed a 200-square-meter wide luxury house on Jalan Kair, RT 03/04, Ragunan Urban Village, Pasar Minggu Sub-district, South Jakarta.

The damages amounted to more than Rp 600 million

South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Syamsul Huda said, his sub-agency received the fire report at 12:28 AM. He then immediately sent 67 firefighters and 19 fire engines to the scene.

"They arrived at the location in two minutes and immediately started extinguishing the fire," he expressed, Thursday (9/4).

He explained, the fire was allegedly triggered with an electricity short circuit on the second floor of the house.

Finally, the fire was localized at 1:06 AM and extinguished completely by 1:39 AM.

"No casualties in the incident and the damages amounted to more than Rp 600 million," he explained.

Meanwhile, a resident, Akbar, claimed to have seen flames blazing from the second floor. Then resident tried to put out it but failed and immediately contacted the fire sub-agency.

"Thank you to the firefighters for their promptness in quickly extinguishing the fire and preventing it from spreading to other buildings," he stated.
